This is more important than most people realize, being that we're already in an electricity shortage. We're expected, globally, to increase demand by 50% over the next quarter century. That's the "official" number, I actually expect us to hit that mark by 2040, mainly due to the proliferation of data centers, particularly the Hyperscale DCs, which are rated over 100 Megawatts. Add in the attempt to replace ICE vehicles with BEVs, and we can double that. According to the EIA, the US alone burns 200 Billion GGE of fuel every year. At 33.5 Kilowatt-Hours per GGE, that's 6,700 Terawatt-Hours/Year. Adjusting for the greater efficiency of electric vehicles, that would translate to about 1,700 - 2,000 Terawatt-Hours/Year. The thing is, we're only using 4,000 Terawatt-Hours a year right now, so adding as much as 2,000 tWh/yr brings us to 6,000. Add in the original 50% by 2050 figure and we're at 8,000 tWh/yr. Forget getting there on Wind & Solar, which has an abysmal power density, we're not getting there on fossil fuels either, not by themselves.

They can continue helping people as much as they want. Christian Catholics have been doing this for centuries..... giving charitable assistance to the marginalized and downtrodden. And they have been doing this without finding the need to mock and insult other religious groups by using religious imageries that they hold sacred to their faith. Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence can claim that they are not being disrespectful till they're blue in the face, but words mean nothing when their actions demonstrate otherwise. If LGBTQ supports this.... then no Catholic should support the LGBTQ. May God have mercy on their souls.

And the idea that objecting to penis-bearing persons using women's locker rooms or to biological women athletes being denied a level-playing field is transphobic is as vacuous as saying that opposition to Greasy Governor Gavin's $836 BILLION (at a minimum) reparations proposal is racist. Admitting that a particular group has suffered or even IS suffering discrimination doesn't mean that only that group is entitled to a voice in how to compensate for past discrimination or define present discrimination. BTW, I was in support of legally-cognizable gay marriage at least a decade before Hillary or Barack. Probably because I refuse to sell out what's right for what is politically expedient.
